I can get into a good school, like ranked in the 50's, but I really want to go to a top-ranked (top 20) school. If I work EXTREMELY hard in college and get like straight A's, could I transfer to a top 20 school?

You'd better learn to write English better than you do if you hope to get into a better school. That's probably the first thing to improve.

Also, do you think there's something magical about getting INTO an upper-tier school? You also have to get OUT of it, successfully. The competition is tougher in better schools. You seem to have a way to go and might be better off improving your credentials more gradually. For example, you might hope to get an advanced or professional degree from a "better" university than you went to as an undergraduate.
