I'm not going for a biased question here. I just Stumbled Upon this clip and it got me thinking and I thought I would share it with others. And get their views on it as well.

Although I'm pro-choice I understand the struggle the Pro-choice demonstrator are going through trying to answer that question.

So all your showing is people thinking of the rights of a murdered child rather than retribution.

If it were illegal, you would hope that there would not be many abortions, is probably their way of thinking.

Nice try, no cigar

Interesting! Have a star!

They've spent years on this issue and haven't thought out the ramifications of the position they've adopted.

Sorta casts doubt on the position itself, doesn't it?

I've heard plenty of anti-abortion rights people talk about punishing the medical personnel who help a woman get an abortion. Combined with this clip, it sounds like they just can't believe that someone would CHOOSE an abortion, that they had to be hoodwinked somehow, so the woman is blameless but her doctor is a criminal.

Typical rightist doublethink.

So let me ask - in their eyes, am I a criminal for sitting with my ex and holding her hand in the waiting room, and for helping her PAY for her abortion? And in their eyes, is she blameless? Even though I told her I'd prefer she continued with the pregnancy but would help either way, and SHE wanted the abortion?

They just can't deal with logic. That's why to them a bundle of cells is more important than a person.

Emily,

That was very interesting. All the pro-lifer's believe that abortion should be illegal but that a woman that had an illegal abortion should not be punished. Rather a weird circular thought don't you think?

Excellent question and thanks for sending the clip. This is a political issue that truly should be left private. A woman's body is not up for debate.

I am pro-life and I think the punishment should be the same as for murder. Even if not legally classified as so abortion IS murder. A heart beat is what determines whether you are living right? When your heart stop beating you are pronounced dead. And some people who's heart stops and they are brought back will actually say that they died. So please tell me, if a baby has heart beat while still in the womb and you kill it, how is that not murder?

Well I would say no punishment for the woman, but certainly for the abortion provider, who is a torturer and a murderer.
The thought of having an abortion should never even enter into the human mind. Bringing a new child into the world should always be a joyous event. There is no such thing as an unwanted child.
A mother and father should never be afraid to have too many children. They should be afraid to have too few !!!

Another example of why justice is more important than compassion!

Anyway, interesting question. Have a star.

Talk about hypocrisy! If it's illegal, they should be punished - but obviously they're not really sure of themselves. They're just following the crowd. Ignorance is so ugly!
