I do not mean the origin of the word, i read it's derived from Greek word for alien-form, rather the way in which the words used, it used to be just a general term for foreign being, 'that there is alien', however preceding the film it's used as a proper name, 'that is an Alien'

Sorry, you have it the wrong way round. The films did not invent a new use for the word.

The word alien was in common use for extra-trerrestrals, as well as for non-nationals, for many decades before the Alien series of films.

An Alien as well as being a green little thingy with an oddly shaped head (Before the films naturally) was and still is used (Although rarely) as a name to describe people 'not of this country' ie. basically immigrants, people who have moved to this country yet have no allegiance to Government or crown.

Basically a foreign person living in a country that is not their own.

Though calling someone an alien for those reasons won't go down well with the PC brigade these days!

The word has been around longer then the movie!

ORIGIN Middle English : via Old French from Latin alienus ‘belonging to another,’ from alius ‘other.’

I think the word was used in that context long before the film was ever thought of.(Roswell for example).

The filmmakers chose the title "Alien" because the public already associated the word with extraterrestrial lifeforms, not the other way around.
