Okay my wife and our two kids, and me were at the store and my wife was checking out. And i was holding my daughter, she didn't want to walk she's only three. And then she falls asleep while i'm holding her and some lady walks by and says "Wow why do men hold there daughters?" Then she says men should only hold there sons". And then i heard her say " That man must be a child molester!" I think that was totally rude! What would you have done? And was i doing something wrong by holding her? And what's with some of these women?

That woman was a b$#$*h... My hubby carries our girl everywhere because he loves her and wants to keep daddy's little girl close.

That woman obviously needs some mental professional and fast! There is nothing wrong with a Dad holding his baby girl. It is a dirty minded person that is wrong! She's the sicko! Don't let the crazies get to you. Just keep on being a good father. You were probably right not to say anything, but if I were your wife, and I was there, you would have had to hold me back from kicking some butt. Wow! Has it come to that?! People can't even hold their own children any more? Sheish! Ignore her. Love your baby. I would have at least given her a piece of my mind and told her to seek psychological help immidiately!

A man has every right to hold his own child. Would that woman have been a crabby b*tch is she saw a mother holding a sleeping son? Not likely. She was just being rude and ignorant. You just keep holding your daughter any time she needs held! Let her know she's loved unconditionally by you before she gets to middle and high school and feels she has to earn affection. My daddy always held me and I was much more confident because of it.

If anything you should be applauded for being a good dad. I came across a similar situation where I was playing with my daughter in a store and I had her upside down and she was giggling/squeling and somebody walking by said something about abusing her. People should mind their own business and worry about raising their own kids since most of us are not incompetent.

That woman was clearly insane or she has twisted ideas of sexuality. Neither of those problems should be your concern.

There is nothing wrong with a father carrying his sleeping daughter. To suggest otherwise is a sad reflection on how paranoid (i.e., unreasonable) people have become.

Ignore her, she is a total idiot! You are her father for pete sake! You are supposed to hold your child regardless of the gender. I give you a hats off for being a good father. Don't let that ignorant woman's words shake you up. Holding your daughter is perfectly normal.

She was rude alright. It's a good thing I didn't hear her say it. (My mouth gets me in enough trouble as it is). They'd have probably asked me to leave the store. Still it's nice to see a father hold his child, rather it's a girl or a boy.

I would have kicked the obnoxious old wench in her teeth, or at least I would have wanted to. "Does this also mean that mothers who hold their sons are molesters too, you old dirt bag," is a statement that comes to mind.
