We've literally only secured the area from the airport to the Green Zone sort of!!! That's after 4 years of fun... Good grief. Leave.

One word answers this - Vietnam.

(Only this is far, far worse and the longer you leave it, the worse it will get.)

You have answered your own question and you are quite right - leave. The Iraqis don't want us there, world public and governmental opinion realise it was a big mistake in the first place, it is a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. Last but not least, the Iraqis will be compelled to reach some settlement amongst themselves and hopefully the senseless slaughter will stop. The only losers will be Haliburton and the other contractors, and no-one will cry over their no longer having their snouts in the trough of taxpayers' money.

we should not have gone to Iraq in the first place. As for leaving now and leave the people of Iraq suffer because of us and our lies and false promises would be inhumane.

Those who ran for a 'kill' cliaming a just cause should now be in there to fix the mess they created even if it means taking whole of their lives. That will be the only way to justify their actions and inactionss. And Bush and Blair and many others like them sholud be sent to Iraq to help fix the problem. They shoule not be hiding and dictating terms for a land miles away as that is only cowardly. "Cowards die many deaths, the Valiant dies but once".

So yeah, we have to stay and fix the problem we created!

I would reduce our visibility but stay on hand to keep others out and let the various sects have it out with each other. They're going to do it with us or without us. But they don't need to have other's butting in and taking advantage of it. When they're done having their little tet a tet, they should come back to normal and come back to the table. However, if they keep it up, pull our people out and tell the arab nations to play baby sitter. It isn't worth our soldiers lives for the sectarian disputes.

Great idea! Call the "Decider" in the Whitehouse- & tell Him we should get out of Iraq. Maybe You'll have better luck than the 200 Million others in this Country- who've tried... :(

it hasnt failed it really hasnt even peaked yet. Violence has dropped in anbar and all the sunni arabs and al sadr has withdrawn from the field his militia. We still have months maybe years before we know it worked or not. And we actually controll about half of baghdad not to shabby.

Who said the Surge has failed? Liberals who have never been over there?
Good grief... you might as well let everyone invade America so no one can have any opinions of their own.
