"Radical conservatives" ? =))) There's an oxymoron for ya'. Yeah, being like dry water could cause some stress. ;D

"Radical" IS the opposite of "conservative" .( The opposite of "liberal" is " closed-minded", or "illiberal " Look it up in the dictionary, Webster's, not Limbaugh's )As you've (sort of ) figured out , most of the self-labeled "conservatives" aren't. Conservative , that is.

We need a new labeling system, with two axes, or more, instead of the one we're using.. (sorry if you've seen this before , but it's applicable here too ) It's more complicated than the one we're using, but so is life, as are our elected busybodies who try and run it . Labels might change with the issue, but it would at least be somewhat accurate .

We could group all the political animals into four areas, thusly: One axis runs from "conservative to "radical" . The other is the "authoritarian"/"libertarian" axis . With this system , the current administration lands squarely in the radical-authoritarian quadrant . Except when it comes to taxes on the very(very!) rich, and environmental regulation, in which case they are radical-libertarians . Doesn't that seem more accurate? (Point of disclaimer : I'd label me as a liberal-conservative-libertarian (slightly off-center (insert joke here)) Any other axis that should be added ? Sorry to hijack the question a little, but.... ;D

It's funny how both liberals and conservatives accuse each other of the same thing, being "radicals".

They are "plotting to destroy and trample the American left much as the Soviet Union was broken" according to a question I answered earlier anyway. They must have some kind of tics with all that pent up frustration. Maybe the asker was Karl Rove or Rush.

Almost every liberal I know can’t get passed the 2004 election. They brood all the time so I try and make them feel better about themselves by humoring them.
I feel your pain. LOL I really do.
