If you're asking what stage of life the Sun is currently in it is called the "main sequence". Class G stars like our Sun spend the majority of their life in this stage, converting hydrogen to helium via nuclear fusion. Our Sun will spend about 4.5 billion more years in this phase and will then go nova after the hydrogen is spent.

The sun is a yellow-dwarf star that is just about halfway through its life cycle. It's still going strong and it'll be about 5.5 billion years before it dies. Of course, we'll be dead by then.
