They have a very good chance of being in the Superbowl. But theoretically the top 3 teams in the AFC should beat them.
However you know the saying "any given Sunday".

It depends, I personally cant wait to see when Terry Glenn comes back and see how their passing games changes. Plus Tank Johnson on D, if they get their act together they could very well shape up to be a great team, even might win the big game. Now to those skeet monsters above me who said Dallas will finish 3rd in their division? Gimme a break, Cowboy's defense will walk all over the Redskins Offense, especially since none of their wide recievers know how to catch a ball and their running game is a joke. Giants will be the only problem they will face in their division so eat it. And because they had a bad game against the Bills that means they suck? Bills wanted it more, Cowboys were thinking about the Patriots, plain and simple. Every team slips at least one game....

I think they can but they have to get better in a few areas. Actually, they have to get better in almost every area. I think they are good enough to win the NFC right now but in order to compete with either New England or the Colts they need to defend the pass better. Plus they need to cut down on mistakes like penalties and turnovers.
I think the Cowboys have more than a few teams worried. Their defense is improving every week but the Vikings didn't have much of a passing attack which allowed the Cowboys to focus on the run and stop A. Peterson. Teams that can run and pass will present problems to the Cowboys defense.

so the AFC are going to play themselves? i keep seeing these "great " teams being named but they are AFC teams,they have to play an NFC team. now as for the question will the Cowboys go to the superbowl? i dont think they are just there yet,i look for them to make it to the play offs and maybe even the NFC championship game, but i dont think they are tweaked just yet to make it to the superbowl. the secondary is a little slow and gives up the big pass plays to much and they have 2 good running backs but need a great running back to balance them out.marion barber can do this if they give him the chance but they will still need a speedy cover guy on defense. if byu chance they do make it i wouldn't look for a win,but the hey 5-4 in the superbowl aint bad,thats over half a season and nobody else can brag about being there that many times.

If romo gets his act together definetly. They have what it takes. A great offense and a strong defense. Plus there rookie kicker who kick not one but two perfect 53 yard kicks.

The Cowboys have about as much of a chance to win it all as you do winning the GOP nomination for President.
In order of likelyhood;
1. Patiots
2. Colts
3. Steelers

if you lose by 21 points at home and barely beat the worst team in the nfl, you have no chance whatsoever in winning the super bowl.
