all too well--weeks of court drama in Florida while the country held its collective breath and wondered who our next President would be. New words entered our vocabulary that year, like HANGING CHAD, and a lot of people who THOUGHT we elected our President by popular vote, found out what the ELECTORAL COLLEGE really was.

I remember that Al Gore won by a landslide.
I remember that George W. Bush did not come even close.
I remember rigged voting machines in Florida.
Florida were Jeb Bush is the Governor.
I remember watching the election special on election night, when Al Gore was declared the President of the United States of America.
I remember when the same thing happened with John Kerry 4 years later.

Boy, do I. I was almost 14 years old. I was so torn apart (I was pro-Gore) I refused to go to school for two days. Whenever there's an election and people say "it's too close to call," I automatically think about the Recount of 2000.

u . s . a . of america isn't a democracy nor exchange into it based as one. The electoral college is there to guard the individuals from themselves. As Winston Churchill pronounced, "the best argument against democracy is a 5-minute communique with the properly-known voter." The presidency exchange into not even difficulty to known vote while this u . s . began out. Why? How can this be? because of the fact in this constitutional republic this is not meant to be counted who the president is. He would not have a lot capability below the form.
