LOL Ruth you may be right about the Florida thing. I don't know for a fact but I bet that the average age of someone getting married in Massachusets is on average a bit older then alot of states helping to keep the rate lower

it's old, but I would be surprised if it changed much...

I'm not sure why, but it's funny to me... also note all the red states near the bottom... hahaha

and "rate" would be a percentage of the total number of marriages... so number of marriages wouldn't matter...

here's something more recent, which seems to say it's dropping nation wide, but the blue states are still lower...

Catholicism. Same with PA.

Plus, it's cold in the winter. When their children are grown, they move to Florida and do it.
