i have a bad feeling after seeing Death Note on adult swim that it'll become the next big thing, and they'll ruin the series. the animation still looks good, they didnt change much there, but i dont like the voice acting, and if it gets too popular, i think they'll probably slack off on it

i dont have a problem with people liking it, but when something becomes big in america, its gets BIG, and attracts many annoying people, and the voice acting and animation quality tends to get worse and worse

by "slack off" i mean they'll start editing it more and more, and in the very very worse case scenarios, American writers will try to write a filler episode...

I don't know... death note is one of my favorite manga/animes out there. Hopefully ppl will get curious by the adult swim version and watch it in its original language.
I never watch it in english anyway. I... just can't, haha.
who's doing the voice overs? some do a better job than others (no matter how I hate to admit it- i.e. knights of the zodiac vs. bleach. bleach came out pretty good). as long as the content is not really affected, you shouldn't worry.

I honestly do not want it to become too popular because once it is dubbed over in english the translations get messed up and also I do not want little kids coming up to me at anime conventions claiming that they know everything about death note when what they know is pure bull crap. It will be massacred by the american dubbing companies, I hate when things like that happen to animes that I love very much.

Haha the condom subject particularly made me chortle!!! xDDD i've got been asking myself the comparable question! i think of there are various motives for individuals to love them! nicely, i haven't watched Code Geass so i would be unable to assert something approximately it! I examine loss of life notice yet...dropped it! >.> So i will purely communicate approximately Naruto x'DD First, no count the way you look at it, that's no longer so unique! The reasons, the subject concerns and all are extremely nicely-commonplace! i do no longer hate it yet that's how that's to me! of course, such own questions like those interior the anime could make you think of roughly your life and positively approximately each and every thing although that's no longer something new! i assume you will hit upon that everywhere in case you look for it! to no longer point out that some do no longer even think of so profoundly. they only savor the battling.no longer something greater! i'm particular some watch it through fact that's familiar so as that they flow with the flow! I guess lots of individuals are like that! perhaps their expectancies are not that top so as that they are happy! guy, that sounded so hateful! lmao yet all human beings has their own distinctive likings so some are followers, some are haters! it is going to be unable to be helped!

You are surpised the animation is still good, but think it's going to decline over time? What are you expecting, them to completely redraw it when they brought it over to the US? Personally, I think the voice acting is actually better than average (Ryuk's actually amuses me in a good way). But we'll really see once we hear L's and Misa's voice. And in what way are they going to "slack off on it"? Like the voice actor's won't put as much effort into it or something?
As far as not wanting it to become too popular, I don't want to see people in school wandering aroudn with "Death Notes" in their hands like you see people with Naruto headbands, if that's what you mean. But I think it's good thing that a new series that is widely reguarded as being amazing is getting air time on Adult Swim.

i agree with mat again today. i dont want it to become so popular that its annoying to see it cuz its everywhere but they seem to have done a decent job dubbing it. for once i can actually sit and watch an anime in english,which amazes me. even though its only the first ep, it seems the dub has potential and will definately get fans. ive been watching the subbed online and i think more people will once they realize a whole week of waiting sucks haha.

i really love death note! its sooo awesome! i think that even people without a computer should be able to watch such an amazing anime.... but for some reason i dont feel too happy about it....
i dont really know why. maybe ill just get annoyed that people will all of a sudden be talking about death note and all like its the best...when they never really bothered to find out about it before.
yes, i know. im being selfish and a bit hyporcritical... sorry ^^ but its how i feel.
it just annoys me when i think about how everyone will be talking all about it like they do naruto and bleach...
and death note will be popular, too. its too awesome not to ^^
so, theres my answer. hope i made sense ^^

I AGREE! ;3
Though, all Animes are "sentenced" to popularity as soon as they touch Adult Swim/Cartoon Network. (Sad truth, i know) ;___;
It'll become too main-stream and over-rated...which is why i tend to lean towards Anime that no one has ever heard of.
-----
Its good for an Anime to have a fan base...but its horrible when the fans live and breathe the show..*cough Narutards*cough* >___>;;
Ugh...but yeah...im a little concerned its not going to be as good as the Manga...;___;
So im going to watch & read both around the same time. :D
---
Meh...i watched it tonight and completely despised Raito's voice...(UGH.)

We'll I have to admit that it's a very addicting show. I've seen it with Jap subs. I really like some anime shows to me my special thing and not to become so popular with everyone else.

I don't watch Death Note, nor any show right now, so it doesn't matter to me now. I see it is getting more and more popular. Maybe the series will be ruined like you said before, but most likely, it won't. Hmmm... At least it won't beat Naruto and Bleach! =D
