Ah, but there is. You use the half-life concept to come up with the answer. So if half is gone in 8 days, 3/4 is gone after a total 16 days and so on. Your book should have a formula for other time-frames.

if a half life is 8 days, then there will be 50% left after 8 days. after 12 days there will be 50% of 50 (which is 25%) then after 18 days 50% of 25 (which is 12.5%) and after 24 days 50% of 12.5 (6.25%)

every 8 days, you have lost half your sample
after 8 days, 50% remains
after 16 days, 25% remains
after 24 days, 12.5% remains
