I just realized that talking about Christianity is a big no-no on the tube and there is a lot of trouble when someone speaks out about hell and the other stuff that the gospels talk about.

Why do you think this situations happen?

I don't, any any rational person would be able to look at it objectively and not be offended.

I doubt whether you stated it right, because I don't think the Gospel, or for that matter any religious statements would 'offend' anyone. Other than the offence between religions. Gospels may offend Muslims, Koran may offen Christians and that stuff.

I think, the logical, or scientific resistence to the Gospels offend the advocates of Gospels.

The reason I feel is that, the Gospels or any other religious texts are accepted by the believers unquestioningly, basically because it is a belief. There would be difficulties to the believers if one starts anlyzing the whole stuff, on a logical, historical and empirical plain.

Therefore I think the criticism of the Gospels may be offending to the believers, but the Gospels themselves may not be 'offinding' to anyone.

Because logic and reason cannot be offended but challenged only, whereas emotions and beliefs can be offended.

#1 I don't find any of the four " Gospels", offending. #2 If it is that you are attacking Christianity then maybe you need to know that it is at the core of a lot of peoples belief system. There are many forms or beliefs or theological differences among Christan doctrine. If you are truly interested in it then I would suggest that you go talk to different ministers, priests, or even theologians and a Rabi. After all "knowledge is the way to wisdom".

I don't find the gospels, in and of, themselves.

That they are not a true historical account of what happened at the time is only offensive when people try to ram them down one's throat as authentic.

It is also a big No No to discuss Christianity on this site as well.

The more unreal a subject is, the more it will be fervently defended.

Well, because it's fiction, yet people regurgitate it as truth. If I started yapping about how Sauron is going to burn you alive forever if you don't worship the Varda, you'd probably be a little amused, if not annoyed.
