I use black. I don't want to write notes if the color of the pen isn't black. But if there's really no black pen available, I use a my 2-year old mechanical pencil. :)

It depends on what I am using to write with, for instance if it is just a ball point pen, I'd rather use a black extra fine point, if I'm using a cartridge style fountain pen or calligraphy pen, prefer to use brown because I like the sepia tones in old documents.
If I'm in a super creative mood and I'm using my late great grandfather's old fashion dip pen, then I love to write in turquoise.
This is such a wonderful dip pen because it is made from hand blown glass and it is something that he bought in his world travels before he married our great grandmother

I like blue the best when I am at school but I have been known to use purple when taking notes sometimes.

My notes are techni-colored! I use them colored gel pens :> Mostly purple or green. Blue is cool too. But I always love traditional black.

For a pen definanlty crazy colors like my faves: Lime green and hot pink! Love them! You can get them and a lot more in a package at Staples or a store like Target where they sell school supplies. :D

Black:
It's darker and copies better if I have to use the copier for what I have made.
