Do you find it difficult to get best answers in the P&S section?

Very, but there are many reasons for that, such as:

- Alot of people go in this section.
- Alot of Top Contributors having answers given to them because they have a status (Example: Spider, Judas Rabbi, jenn, etc.), even if their answers aren't that great and suck.
- Some people here are friends with each other and give their friends the best answers.
- cheaters creating multiple accounts to get best answer.
- asking ridiculous questions such as "apples or oranges" where one half chooses apples while another is oranges.
- The trolls and haters who give thumbs downs and report questions sway the askers decision.
- Voters are too lazy to look at the other answers and usually choose the first or second answer seen, even if they are dumb answers.

I personally put effort in my questions and it's a shame such effort is wasted, while such bullcrap is appreciated. Difficult as it may be, just try another section, or dont give up. it's tough and that's basically how answers are chosen (see list of reasons listed above). It's rare answers are chosen based on material, and not status.

It's hard because a lot of the questions are things like "Pepsi or Coke?" and then you get like 40 people who all say coke and 37 others who Pepsi, and like 4 people who say they don't drink soda. And how are you supposed to pick a best answer for that? So people probalby end up just picking the first answer or something, so if you're not first, you miss out. It sucks, but that's what other sections are for.

Believe me ... it's not all it's cracked up to be! I have "haters" and stalker "thumbs downers" just because I get so many. How sad is that? So I actually try to help others and be a kind person and that's what I end up with. I don't beg for best answers and i don't have friends who just give them to me either. I really am here to just have fun and help. So it seems you can't win either way. I refuse to let it bother me anymore ... it's their problem (and you know how I feel about Karma - they'll get theirs in the end.)

Don't get me wrong - I SO appreciate whenever I get a best answer and let the asker know that I do by leaving a comment. It does feel good when someone appreciates what you've said... but it's not the main reason we're here right? Don't worry about the best answers and just be yourself and have fun. You don't get a darn thing for them really ... it's not like they're giving out prizes and they can end up just making you a target. Keep on P & S'ing and forget the silly stuff my friend.

Hmmm sometimes it is. Because sometimes the people on here give best answer to the person just cause they are their friend or something. And then they give best answer to the person even if their answer really isnt a good/best answer. It is really starting to annoy.

Depends on the questions and how fired up I am about my answer! Or how many answers are already out there.

yeah but it's really fun. you never noticed that in only 5 answers is like equivalent to a best answer and sometimes, you never noticed how many questions you've answered :-)

Not too bad...I have a harder time in my main category, Lebanon...I think because there are only a few regulars and not as many questions...
