Since posting have research this issue further.
These mountains are heavily wooded and could hide thousands of armed men/
The fellow kicking up all the fuss is Tama iti and it aint no hoax
NZ Troops were not involved just NZ Police and their Armed Offenders Unit

Maori Fanatics are training there.
Yes we do have police and an army[64% of our army is Maori].
There is no peaceful or legal purpose for what is going on in the Ureweras.
Look at history, they were all killing each other long before the white man came. Tribal Wars.
Now it's Mongrel Mob against Black Power etc.
Sorry, but they love killing, they even kill their own children.
Now it's training camps, for more killing.

I think that the NZ Govt have muzzled the media on this issue.
Their is serious disharmony in this country in some sectors of the country regarding Treaty Rights.
What was not achieved at Bastion Point by protest is going to be achieved using terrorist tactics.
New Zealand will be engaged in Civil War by the end of this decade.

As I recall this mountain range on the North Island is similar to the terrain in Afghanistan. Today's web edition of the New Zealand Herald newspaper has a story on this which says the fellow kicking up all the fuss was engaging in a hoax. Apparently it was being used by NZ troops on a training exercise.

Oh no, not New Zealand too? I always think of New Zealand as a peaceful land with the spring lambs running about. And Xena of course. They are having violence there too....I don't want to know about it, I will stick my head in the sand like big bird....
