The answer is no....sort of.

The general rule is that if you play for a travelling team of any kind (also known as 'rep' or 'select') then you are ineligible to play high school hockey in the province of Ontario. The Board of Education instituted this rule to give 'other' kids a chance to play.

However, during the 90s, there was dwindling enrollment in hockey programs for teenagers, and some county boards allowed exceptions to happen (Halton County is an example). As I am no longer a scout, high school hockey is no longer something I keep up on. So, I would do as Bob suggested and make some calls.

Who wants to play Ontario High School hockey anyway? No checking or rough physical contact allowed at all. That's 1/2 the game stripped naked right there.

I didn't think that it was allowed. Then again, maybe it's just that to play AAA, you would barely have time to play on the school team. But seems to me that it's not the high school that made that rule, that is was the AAA system that made that rule. BTW i'm from Sudbury, i haven't been in high school since 99 tho.

Call (905) 780- 6642. The is OMHA #. I don't think so but it could vary province to province but probably all falls under Hockey Canada guidlines so I can't be sure.
