If the doctor feels the baby is growing and not under any stress then I wouldn't worry. A lot of women have trouble eating toward the end since the stomach is so crowded by the baby. I would not encourage you to try losing weight, but don't worry too much if your doctor is saying things look ok.

Although you probably wont read this in any expert book, I've noticed from experiance that some women do tend to start losing weight toward the end of their pregnancy. I have theories on this but since they are theories you can take them for what they are. First, although the baby is gaining a pound a week, you the mom are probably eating less because it is uncomfortable to eat more than a few bites. Second, you are probably anxious and getting stresses/worried. This causes some women to gain weight but others to lose it.
I'm sure you are perfectly healthy, and you are going to have a healthy, beautiful baby. Feel blessed that you will have less weight to lose later. Good luck and congrats!

Your body is going to supply the baby nutrients no matter what... If you are eating healthy food it's possible to loose weight in the last month or two because of the way you might be carrying the baby. It might be carrying high and pushing against your stomach which would make you feel full sooner.
When I had twins I lost 40 pounds..... during the pregnancy and they were completely healthy.

I am 30 weeks and havent gained weight YES I have a belly but I have been losing in other places this worried me because with # 1 I gained 60lbs and #2 and3 I gained 20-30 lbs....My doctor says everything is growing just fine and I trust her ...If you dont trust your doc get a second opinion but like me you could be losing in other places which is not a BAD thing :)

Hehe, count yourself lucky :) I lost 40 during my pregnancy and my idiot doc gave me a c-section cause my daughter was estimated to be 9 12 and stuck. She was in reality 7 11 with a big head lol. Now my brat is 10 months old and happy and healthy and I weigh more now than I did when she was born lol. You're fine, the baby is fine. Good luck and sleep while you still can!

I think I've solved the mystery. Did you just deliver a 13 pound baby? That could be why. (Just kidding,,,I couldn't resist).
I'm 35 weeks and seem to be gaining weight at a faster rate compared to the rest of my pregnancy. I thought I would be good since I've resisted junk food this whole pregnancy...but apparently that's not always the case.
Best of luck!

i HAVE 3 BOYS AND I LOST WEIGHT WITH THE LAST 2. 20LBS AND 13 THIS LAST TIME. I'M SURE YOU ARE FINE. YOUR DOC WOULD FOR SURE TELL YOU IF HE THOUGHT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE BABY IS JUST GETTING THE MAJORITY OF EVERYTHING. ENJOY YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR SIZE IS, BUT I WAS TOLD THAT IF YOU ARE SOMEWHAT OVERWEIGHT PRE-PREGNANCY, YOU TIPCALLY LOSE AND NOT GAIN. GOOD LUCK.
