It's not the coordinator. I honestly believe this is the perfect situation where the person chosen to lead the team doesn't believe in himself, so the team has no faith in him either. The person Im referring to is the QB.
Yes, I will forever say I am proud that Grossman came off the injured reserve list and assisted (he didn't do it alone; it wasn't just special teams and it wasn't just the defense) the team to the SB; doesn't matter that we lost, because we still made it. This season began with a ton of injuries and Rex still not being comfortable with some of the plays. The result? In the beginning of the season, his throne was relinquished and given to Griese. As happy as I was, that's the equivalent of taking a child at three years old from the home they are used too and forcing them to "mesh" with a family they aren't familiar with.
Watching the games that Grossman played, you can tell the O-line was not willing to protect him. Play after play the line would let the defensive players blow right pass them and sack Grossman every single time. This caused a ton of forced fumbles and the opposing team was given a lot of opportunities to run the ball and score. It was no wonder why he wasn't comfortable with the plays; he knew he was going to get hit. But it wasn't only Rex, the receivers weren't playing that well either; either they can't hold on to the ball or they simply can't catch it. What they need is to start from the basics, how to catch the ball, bring it in to the body, hold onto it and not drop it.
After being in the SB, our schedule became a little more competitive. As a result, the weaknesses of our d-line were revealed. Overall, we just have so much work to do and we should just dub this the "rebuilding" season. We need to stop changing or introducing new players and just try to work with who we have now.
While every team can't do exceptionally well, I think the Bears have put forth a really good effort after losing some key players. As long as the fans continue to support them, especially during the hard times, they will try to produce a W for the city. Personally, I don't care what their season record is, they will always be champions to me because I won't bash them as a team or start liking another team because they are having a bad season.

Play calling could be improved. Grossman is an athletic QB but gets rattled easily so designing plays that let him ease into the game could help settle his nerves. To do that, you need to establish a reliable running game but the Cedric Benson gamble has not panned out. I still don't understand how they justified dumping Thomas Jones who is pretty much the only bright spot on the Jets. Desmond Clark is a good target, why not get the Tight End involved more? A lot of teams are turning to their tight ends and have found tremendous success this season.
As far as defense, I'm left scratching my head because they are nowhere near the performance level of past years. Clearly they have talent but even in the face of injuries, I thought they would still dominate. Where is that defense?

I would blame the defensive coordinator as much as the offensive coordinator. I think that the Bears thought they were so bad when they began the season, only to get kicked in their teeth now, and looking from the outside in. Don't blame Grossman or Griese b/c they just run the plays. they don't call them. I think that they need to get healthy first off, go to drawing board, look at plays that could work for the offense. get the defense ready, show up to the game, and give it 100%.

your offense has spurts where it shows it can put up scores...but they are jsut spurts....yall's qb is lack luster and your offensive line is sketchy at times....your deffense has been inconsistant, from where last year yall were dominant, in the running game and passing, it just seemed like nothing could get through, but from the super bowl till present day, you havent been getting the job done on the deffensive side of the ball, but there are times where the deffense looks solid, but it doesnt last for long like it did last season and the season before that, speaking from a huge football fan, ive been obsessed with it since i was little, i really dont think its the coaches....i thinks its the fact that your team is not clicking...it just seems like the chemistry you had at one time has become flat...i dont see the fire that the chicago bears used to have....and even though im a die hard cowboys fan, i dont like any team struggling that has the talent to dominate, not on the onffensive side of the ball, but the deffense, yalls deffense won many games last year, prolly all of them....and who knows....the next draft, yall might find yalls new qb if you dont trade for one...but the team lacks chemistry and i dont know why....sometimes i think its because of the huge loss at the super bowl

Its not the Coaches, its the GM Jerry Angelo. Lovie stuck with Grossman way too long because that was Jerry's pick, he traded Thomas Jones and kept Benson because that was also Jerry's pick Jerry cut Tank because he thought he might have a DUI, turned out he didn't. (although that doesn't seem to bother Dallas) He didn't make a play for Moss or Owens because they didn't fit in with what he was looking for.( they seem to fit in N.E. and Dallas ok) He passed on Drew Brees and Kurt Warner in march of 2006 neither probably wood have lost the SB last year. plus don't forget his other great first round busts Michael Haynes, Marc Colombo and David Terrell. that makes him 2 for 7 in the first round, nice Job Jerry.

First they blamed the quarterback, then the offensive line then the defense, now it's the coaches, lets face it,the Bears are not that good and have been over rated, their division improved a lot while the Bears didn't,everyone in their division not only caught up to them but passed them

I personally think most of the plays that the team is or are doing part of the problem and they have to actually think about a good play so they can get a winning touchdown and win the game.

Injuries to defensive tackles, secondary, traded the wrong running back, don't have a great quarterback, don't have great wideouts...
Still a lot of talent, but not as good as last year and probably not repeating in the super bowl.
