Once my friend had a crush on some actor and she didn't know about that song so I told her his number was 867-5309. When it didn't work she thought maybe we needed the area code. I just laughed and told her about the song.

I totally did when that song came out! It was the girlfriend of one the band members at the time... Jenny did NOT answer... but her Dad did! (laughing!) Needless to say, he was not happy! The girl got back at the band member by publishing his phone number in an article that was done about the song in People magazine at the time. That was before answering machines were popular like they are now. Can you imagine what that must've been like???

Yeah, just a minute ago; I got the answering machine of some guy who said his name was Danny or Jenny, couldn't tell which. Oh yeah, they were playing that song on the bus I was on for this AVID field trip.
