Animals are like a baby.. They need us to protect them, nurture, love, feed etc.......If we wanted to be cruel they would have no option but to follow what WE say and do!!! They are truly innocent and look to their masters for protection just as a child does to it's parents.... Animals and Children we all need to get involved with...The INNOCENCE and LOVE is UNCONDITIONAL and can be used for CRUEL purposes!!!!!!!
I got to air on this one ....THANKS!!!

That's how I already treat animals. I have 7 cats that are all spayed and neutered. I protect and love them dearly. I don't understand why more people don't treat animals with the same respect.

Animals deserve respect. I would not say the same level of respect that humans get...I do not eat humans, but I do not eat animals that were treated inhumanely so as not to encourage that (for instance veal). I would guard an animal from being hurt even if it put me in harm's way (though not if it put my children in harm), and I have. Any pets I have had, have been spayed (I have only had female pets).

Animals are NOT people. This does not mean they don't deserve respect, just that they deserve it in the form of protection and love.
Therefore, being responsible by spaying and neutering your pet is a form of respecting its existence because you are making aure that it does not get into trouble, or suffer from terrible diseases (intected uterus, cancers of the reproductive systems in both males and females, etc).
Not letting your pet roam is also showing that you care enough about the animal to protect it from dangers (hit by cars, fights with other animals, exposure to parasites, etc).

I have 2 cats and 2 dogs who are all spayed and neutered. The cats live in my house with me and the dogs only go out when they want to. We have a huge fenced yard for them to play in. I love my pets too much to let them roam.

We should treat others the way they want to be treated, not the way we want to be treated. This is why there are people who specialize in things like training animals: they have spent time learning how that partciular species thinks and ways to affect its mind.

Yeah, I mean, humans are animals, too, we're just the most evolved species so far. I'd neuter my pets and let them roam (I mean, come on, being stuck inside some house all your life would be hell), but I'd make sure some type of chip was implanted in them or they had a collar, and I'd make sure they came back in.

I'm not big on the spaying and neutering part, but I don't let my pets wonder.

Absolutely, animals share the same Earth as we do. Pets become part of your family if not even more since they give you unconditional love no matter what happens.
