Yeah! That was my only allowance. I was saving my money to run away from home. I did and here I am.

I do! We collected them when I was a kid-- this was back in maybe 1984, 1985. We'd collect a six-pack or two of empty bottles, and drop them off at the local corner store. We'd get something like a nickel or a dime per bottle back then.
Gosh-- I'd totally forgotten about that until just now! : )

If by soda you mean things like lemonade, tizer, cream soda and so on, Yes but always had to share the money with my brother and cousin who never shared theirs, oh the setbacks of being the eldest eh!

yea, it was 80 cents an 8 pack. I used to save them up for a rainy day.
