Forever Young - Dylan
Great choice Conchobor, I posted that to a question not long ago. I love the June Tabor version.

"Monster" by Meg & Dia is really amazing. It's based on the book East Of Eden by John Steinbeck, which basically recreates the story of Cain and Abel from the Bible. The "monster" in this song is an individual who doesn't receive any love as a child, and eventually grow sup to be a rapist, murderer, etc.
It sounds a bit morbid, but it's a really really good song. You can listen to it here:

"Goin Back" - Queen [or Larry Lurex...I'm really confused about that whole thing.]
It fills you with a sense of nostalgia, and is really quite beautiful.
You can find it on the Very Best of Freddie Mercury Solo album. That's how I first heard it.
