I totally agree.
At one time, they really did mean to protect our freedoms- ALL americans... Now, they have a personal agenda- to legalize every form of perversion possible, while making conservatives look like the evil ones.
Currently they are attacking our free speech rights. Conservative talk shows are being attacked with the "Fair Doctrine Act." The only people it seems to be fair to are liberals- go figure.

HELLO!!! Darth,
As for me I have not see any good they have done. They are always causing trouble, getting Congress to listen to them and Congress claims no special interest groups. Bull !!! it is to depressing to name the bad things they do every day and most of us have no idea what is up next.
I apologies for being so far behind but I am on a dial up system. The darn computer acts like it just wants to upset me.
On to your next question,
Bulldog

Here's a site with a short history of the ACLU - http://arar.essortment.com/acluamericanci_rmal.htm
Whether or not the ACLU has done anything beneficial is, of course, up to you to judge.

I would not have a problem with the ACLU, but they seem to pick their fights. If it has anything to do with religion, they are against it. But if a religious person was being persecuted and their civil liberties were being trampled, I don't think they would come to their aid. If they picked up the boxing gloves for everything and everybody that was having their civil rights violated, then I would consider them a legitimate organization.

I thought about this, Darth, and I drew a blank. I can't think of one thing the ACLU has done to benefit America. They've tried to do some things that might have eventually led to something beneficial, but not to who they should be helping.
Funny how the libs flipped their lids when their own ACLU jumped in to help the embattled Senator Craig, who in my mind was wronged in just about every way possible by some overzealous municipal cops.

The ACLU defends the rights of people to speak freely, to practice the religion of their choice and to be treated equally before the law. In addition, the ACLU defends other fundamental rights of freedom outlined in the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution: the right to be free from unlawful searches and seizures in our homes and offices; the right to a fair trial and to legal representation; and, the right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment.
What's wrong with that?

Sadly, the ACLU has become corrupt over the years. I think it originally started out for the good of the people. However, It has gotten more and more radical each year. So has our country in general though. I think the end days are here my fellow Americans. San Fran-sicko gets more perverted day by day, people are trying to remove the word "God" from everything, and we are on the brink of WWIII. Laugh if you will, but I think some crazy stuff is going on and the worst is yet to come.

When the answer "I can't think of anything" gets the most votes, you know the viewing audience is top notch.
"Yeah, I can't think of anything either. I agree with not being able to think of anything"
