I'm probably not willing to pay over 300 without tax (U.S. dollars) I have always been a fan of Bauer. My foot feels like it belongs in it and not awkward. Tell me if you have any bad experiences with any skates or what to buy for the quality

I know the dolars are the same bobby. but skates are still cheaper in the U.S. for some reason.

And my foot is still growing... i think, but i usually chew the toe of the skate up pretty good and am forced to get new ones every year or so. I almost made a hole in my last ones, but i still liked them.

If you know you're a Bauer guy, there's no harm in sticking with the brand. You won't be sacrificing anything with your brand loyalty, particularly when you consider that Bauer skates are far and away the most advanced in today's market in terms of technolgy, design, weight and performance.

The best sub $300 model they have is the Vapor XXV ($270 USD). Keep in mind, however, that the Vapor has a more aggressive pattern cut than traditional Bauers and can fit/feel differently as a result. Their Supreme line is provides a more traditional fit, but their offerings in that line kind of straddle your target budget.

The Supreme 50 is a decent skate for $180, but is nowhere near the Vapor XXV in terms of features and benefits. Conversely, the Supreme 70 has superior F&B's to the Vapor XXV for a higher asking price (around $350).

I'd drop the extra coin for the Supreme 70's, but I'm an older guy who's more comfortable with the traditional fit of the Supreme line. If you have access to a pro shop, try on something from each line and decide which fit is most comfortable before pulling the trigger.

EDIT: Just saw Bob's comment on the currencies. lol This is causing havoc for the hockey industry, btw.

I've always worn Bauer myself. I have a pair of 1978 (or so) Bauer Black Panthers which I've been wearing for almost 30 years. I've had several types of blades on the bottom as well. They are the 8th pair of Bauers I've owned. I'm not as up on the current Bauer offerings but friends who are still recommend them.

Go for the new vapor skates. I just got them and they're really comfortable. But, if you have a wide foot you might need a more specific brand. Other Bauer skates are good for wide feet. otherwise, go vapor.

Zapcity is your guy for this one. I'm throwback, still wear the same old Tacks. BTW, no need to differentiate betwwen U.S dollars and Canadian anymore, they be all square. A dollar truly is a dollar.

well depends on your age, if your like me, early teens, then you dont want to spen alot of money on skates at all because your foot is still growing, if your like 18-19+ you can settle yourself with a better, more expensive set of skates.
