My daily Buffalo fan needle. With Martin Biron being named the 1st star of the game for the third straight game, are you starting to feel a little ill yet? Atleast you can take solace in the fact that Daniel Briere is only on pace for 128 points. Oh no, that must suck too. Well, atleast you passed on Peca- no wait, he scored the winner last night. I suppose Drury is only on pace for 70 points, even if that would be a career high.

Oh well, atleast your 10 MILLION DOLLAR player, Thomas Vanek is on pace for 58 points.
Things are good outside of Buffalo. How long until attendance plummets? Where are you all lately?

No, Bob I haven't fallen off the wagon, I just have this thing called a life. You don't seriously expect a college student to be on Yahoo Answers during the weekend, do you? Anyway, I never made any bones about the fact that I thought Biron was the better goalie in Buffalo when he was here. If he wasn't, then the Sabres wouldn't have always played him against Ottawa, the team that gave them the most trouble last season and knocked them out of the playoffs with Miller in net. Also, if you read any of the Buffalo area newspapers or watched any of our local news broadcasts when Drury and Briere both went, you'd know that the fans here all realize perfectly well the f-up that Sabres management made, to the point that media and fan pressure forced them to change their contract negotiation policy this season. At any rate, the Sabres are young, but so is the season. I believe around playoff time last season you were one of the people saying that you'd rather take a team that gets hot late in the season than one that comes screaming out of the gate (a la this year's Senators) and hey, it's only October. I don't even really care so much if the Sabres don't do amazingly well this season; I love them because they're my hometown team. I stuck with them through worse things than a bad start, and I'll keep on doing the same, along with thousands of others.

As a Sabres I was pissed that they let Biron go and did not even keep Zubris, who was a part of the trade. Letting Briere go was a kick in the nut, Drury was not going to stay in Buffalo so that does not bother me (interview he stated that his wife lived in NYC and he wanted to be there anyways).

Vanek is not worth the money that we are paying for him. I am guessing that managment wanted to keep a name player to the team. I like Vanek but he is not worth that much.

I dont think attendance will Plummet, because they are still an alright team, maybe I am delusional but I think once some chemestry happens good things will too. We saw what they are capable of, they are just inconsistant. But I wont hold my hand on my *** either.

Band wagoners suck, have them name some Sabres players, I know who I like as player and why, but can they name players that are not on the first two lines?

Have been a Buffalo Sabres fan since inception. Glad to see that the Flyers are doing better since they got a couple of our former players. At least we got Bobby Clarke and Hitch fired last year. Bobby was great when he had the broad street goons going for him, but not too swift as a GM. Hitch has introduced that wonderful fast paced exciting hockey in Columbus that's a thrill to watch. Marty B. is good goalie, but there is alot of season left and Briere wears down near the end. Don't book your ticket to the finals yet.

First the Jackets and now the Habs, AT HOME!!
It gets kinda cold over there, can't wait to see how many are standing outside when they are .500 at the all-star break, the joke will really be on "Real Hockeytown" and all the bandwagoners that claimed its crown.

Even though this isn't a pro-Sabres question, I will be answering all pro-Sabres questions with this from now on;

I dont know about you Bob, but to me the funniest part is, I never had anything against the city or the team before I got on here and had to deal with Sabres fans consistantly. Now I wouldn't feel bad if that club never won another game.

7 games in the season and you have it all worked out? How in the heck to YOU become a major contributor???? Lets see the Rangers and all their money spent are below the Sabres in the standings. Philly looks good what could i say about them and Biron is a quality net minder. Miller has a more promising future you would have given up miller and kept Biron???? Too much Poutine in your system the arteries are all clogged no blood is getting to your brain. Briere is too expensive for his reputation of being injured 2 years ago he spent most of the season in the stands. Lets see how long he lasts.... And Peca??? holy cow reaching for straws.... ill get back to you in lets see 20 more games then we will see how the Sabres off season looks.

OUCH.

I was watching the game with my Buffalo buddy (the only reason Buffalo vs Columbus would ever be seen on my tube) and we both agreed that the Sabres would have done themselves and their PR department a favor by signing Peca over the summer.

Two minutes later...

I thought the addition of Harry Neale more than offset the losses of Biron, Drury, Briere, and Zubrus.

That was a joke signing Vanek for that much. It does suck to be us right now, doesn't it? Let's see, we got tons of bandwagoners ready to give up, every player we traded is doing better then they ever have before, and even worse, we aren't doing to great either. I think things won't turn out to be as bad though. And if they do, lets go Avs

let me do some math here

we've played 7 games so far. theres 75 more games to go there bobo!!!!! we're 3-4 and its not the end of the World. we're going to keep selling out every game this season and the team will get much better. and i really dont care about how our former teammates are doing with their current teams. at least we dont have scumbags on the team like Philly who put cross checks into guys' faces when they're not looking.

Don't forget: In a population of 300, 000+, they have more murder cases than Toronto (population 3.2 million). That has to suck too.

Sox: that coming from someone who watches a pacifist sport, huh? Do you even have any idea what he's talking about or why we're all saying these things?
