Valerie, if you can achieve a 91 average in biology, you are not dumb. (I wish parents would not discourage their kids.)
If you care enough to ask this question on Yahoo answers, you are motivated to improve.
I teach history in college for fun. I was a cancer doctor for 20 years before I retired from medicine and went back to college to study history. It is possible to be smart in science and the "humanities" like history. It's really rather easy. Whatever the teacher tells you to read - read it. You would be surprised how many college students fail to grasp this simple point.
You could also be more careful how you express yourself in writing. Spelling and grammar are still worthwhile in this world of e-mail and IM. It's just a matter of proofreading - a little extra effort.
Few people are willing to make the effort to do well in school.
Good grades can open all kinds of doors for your future if you invest some effort now. Good luck!

Shows me you have intellect, but only narrow focus, hence you are either easily distracted or not taking things seriously. Colleges/Universities want people with broad academic knowledge, the fact that you got a 72 in Gym highlights the lack of effort in your other courses. You must begin taking things more seriously and quit trying to skate through life. Remember, you only get one try.
I'm not sure I like your father's approach, unless what he really means is that your methods of educating yourself are failing and he is trying to shock you into changing your style. You have to decide if he is indeed the boogeyman.
Just remember, you can live the lie all you want, but sooner or later, reality will strike and it will hurt. Time for a wake up?

Block scheduling? Everyones mothers and dads have diverse expectancies from their little ones. I used to get straigh A's in midsection college yet in highschool i've got been given like 2 B's and my mothers and dads flipped. Whats staggering for some mothers and dads isnt solid adequate for others... they only know what you're able to.

If you can get a 91 in bio that is very good, but I would encourage you to raise your grades in other classes. But trus trust me, bio is tough. It might be that you are spending to much time in bio and not else where.
Be positive and keep a strong attitude. Also i think your father might make certain references to encourage you.

you're bio grade is pretty good, is it an honors or regulars course? i would suggest you just try your hardest and colleges will accept you. Your dad isn't supportive if he thinks you can't get into a college.
