do you mean visible lasers, eg red HeNeon or Green lasers or you you mean infra red 740 nM lasers, infra red cannot be seen unless you have inrared glasses and use smoke to see where the beams are.

It can be smoke, also used for tracking air flow, or it can just be hair spray.

They normally just use *smoke*.
