Why don't the homeless trick or treat?

I used to see a homeless guy all the time on the waterfront in San. Fran. dressed up like Uncle Sam carrying a sign that said, "Trick or Treat." In smaller writing it said, "Trick = $" and "Treat = Take a picture of me" and finally, "Picture = $." He used his top hat to collect the money, and he did rather well from what I saw.

The homeless don't need candy. They need jobs, shelter, friends, hope, health, anything but dental rot.

Great question! LMAO. I have never even thought about it, but you're right, they're already wearing a costume, why not just wander around and knock on doors?
