I think that you are missing the point.
'there is no evidence to suggest they murdered their daughter'
That is NOT mean that the are innocent. It is saying that there is NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE to say 'Yes they did it' or 'No they did not do it'
SOMETHING sinister could have happened involving the McCanns in this case but due to the length of time and the police foul ups there is no way of saying either way.
There have been a lot of cases where the police KNOW who did it, but due to lack of evidence, problems with paperwork they are NOT able to go through with the case and make an arrest.
No I am not saying they did do something but there is the elements of doubt that WILL NEVER BE PROVED, and such leaves the door open for people to make claims. Look at events in history - JFK, Moon landings, Princess Di's death. There are unanswered questions & things that make no sense so people make their own conclusions.
Also the KEY issue in this story is that any offence took place ABROAD and would be covered by Portuguese law. So any action would take place there NOT in the UK as it is actually not covered by UK law.
Lets just hope that Maddy is found safe & well SOON as this will be the best way to put all these stories to rest.

The verdict can not be in until all the facts are in. This is not a witch hunt it is a hunt for the truth and justice for a poor child. You can not say they are completely innocent unless you were there you can only offer your personal opinion like everyone else..

So because one man has decided that they are innocent they are? I'm glad the justice system doesn't really work on this type of principle or we would all be totally screwed. I though that the point in policing was to look for clues and evidence. Not asking for one officers opinion. I guess that's why the British police are so useless.

Until all the evidence is in no one can say what really happened. I do agree that some really disturbed people have been posting some sick questions based on wild press speculation. The fact that these same individuals have the right to vote and could be called to jury service is frightening.

There's no evidence either way, yet. You say they are completely innocent, what evidence do YOU have? The reason people are against the McCanns is because they left their kids alone while they went out for the evening, something you wouldn't do in your own country, and certainly not while on holiday.

I will also wait for the official verdict - the only one that truly matters - the one delivered by a jury under oath.
I will not pray for the "so called loving/decent parents" who later forgot they had children and went partying!
BUT
I will and do pray for the children (all of them) that have been affected by this whole ordeal.
