Mucus plug - gooey, gloppy, glob of clear/whitish goo. It may or may not have blood streaks. Mine never did. When this goes, you've got on average 1-3 weeks until onset of labour.
Bloody show - definitely blood streaked, as per the name...when you get the bloody show, you've got approx 24-48 hours until labour, on average.
I never got a bloody show until I was actually in labour either time so far.

Sounds very promising! I misplaced my "plug" in the process my first exertions approximately 2 days till now I have been given "energetic" contractions, and it replaced into obtrusive. So, so gross - i replaced into wiping after going pee, and without notice there replaced right into a disgusting blob of mucus on the tissue - like, larger than a golfing ball, tinged with a tiny little bit of blood. i think of I screamed in ask your self. in spite of the indisputable fact that, it replaced into additionally notably sparkling. i might definitly call your DR or GP, because of the fact it may be a splash meconium (infant poop) coming via in case you have a leak of amniotic fluid. especially situations you have sprung a leak and don't know it! in case you instincts say "phleghm", you're in all probability ok, in spite of the indisputable fact that it does no longer harm to have them examine you.

Nope, it doesn't always happen. Sometimes you won't even notice when you lose your mucus plug.

No, it doesn't have to have blood in it. Sometimes it does, but other times it's just a big blob. Good luck!
