If Matsuzaka pitches well toomorow then Beckett will not pitch. However if Matsuzaka pitches poorly Beckett will.
Beckett will pitch Game 1 of the World Series no matter what happens.

Gauranteed that he will play if they make game 7(which they should). You are borderline on the world series with your back to the wall, you play your best pitcher. He will probably pitch game 2 of the world series since sun to wed is to short of a rest for a full start. It would be stupid if the Red Sox don't utilize him for at least an inning or two if the teams are within a run or two of eachother.

Game 1 isn't until Wednesday so I could see the Sox going to Beckett for an inning or so if they need him. Francona brought in Pedro for Game 7 of the ALCS back in '04 so there's precedent. Obviously it's more important to win game 7 & advance than to worry about the WS at this point.

Not a chance. He would have to start, and there's no way that's gonna happen in a game 7 on 3 days rest. It would be much better to keep him rested and use him in game 1 and maybe 5, 6, or 7 of the WS if it gets that far

If he's overvalued (which i do no longer trust), it is not his fault. it relatively is in simple terms his fault that he OWNED the Sox the day previous to this, giving up 3 baserunners (i do no longer think of he issued a stroll?) via 24 batters confronted. Beckett pitched great too, he in simple terms did no longer have adequate in the tank to triumph over Joba. Joba have been given the Joba achieved. trust Kevin A that I hate undesirable calls even while they help the Yanks, because of the fact it opens the door to the international of excuses from persons (and the stressful factor is...they're in all probability precise).

It's almost guaranteed that he'll be utilized in the pen tomorrow. I think it depends on how the game goes-if it ends up anything like tonight, I doubt it. If it's a close game, or we're trailing, then absolutely. We'll worry about the WS rotation if and when we get there (though I think we will!!)

I think it would be better if he pitched for game 1 that way he is well rested.

If they struggle with Dice K, they better use Beckett...Otherwise, the World Series won't matter...because they won't be there...

I hope not. Best that we don't over-use him. He is not Superman he needs 3 days rest at least. I doubt they will. They will not use him when they have Dice-K, Wakefield and maybe Jon Lester.
