No, she is not lying, but it is all for publicity.

It is her selfishness to do what she wants with the characters regardless of how her fans feel about it.

She has become a billionaire off our willingness to buy her work. Now she is kicking us in our backsides. Why? Simply because she can.

Nah, she isn't lying. I heard she was reading a bit of script for the 6th movie and it suggested that Dumbledore had a female love interest. So she sent the director a note saying he couldnt put that into the flick because dumbledore is gay.

Rowling handles press really well - but she has no need to indulge in publicity stints. She has been bold in the past in the statements she's made.

How can she lie about a fictional character she created? Isn't anything she says about this character automatically true? If J.K. Rowling says Dumbledore's gay, he's gay.

No, I don't think this is just for publicity. I don't believe Jo would lie about something like that.

Obviously she doesn't go into in the books, its just part of Dumbledore's back story.

I think he may possibly have been gay all along but she kept him "in the closet" and decided to out him when it's all said and done. The article I read stated that she partly said it because of the Christians and the problems that they had with the witchcraft and sorcery in her books. But, hey, they're entitled to their opinion just as much as she is.

Lying about a ficticious character?
Ummmm... she made the whole story up - there is no "truth" about Grindelwald's sexuality - he doesn't exist.

Here's a spin. It was sexual exploration in his college years, and he gave up sexual relationships after this incident. This is my read, and I'm keeping it. I'd forgive anybody for what happens during college, because that is one SCREWED UP time in a persons life.

no. if you think about it, he could be gay. i mean, after what happened in is young adult years, its not suprising. people think shes lying because most people are racists againsts the gay. think- he never had any love interest according to JK. and i mean of the opposite sex. so i believe her becaese the evidence is there whether people wish to believe it or not.

Finally a gay character in the Potter series! I was beginning to wonder whether she lived in this century or not.
