Ive recently noticed something about myself, I constantly NEED someone to talk to.Otherwise I start talking to myself.I dont answer myself like, "Hi how you doing today"? " Oh I,m fine and you"?Nothing like that, I just think Out loud I like to call it, for instance when I.m watching T.V. I'll say "dam that show is stupid".Or Ill remark out loud about one of the characters. I used to think nothing of it ,but find myself doing it more and more often. So my question is, "is that normal"???

Well, it's normal for you - and me. If you find yourself lying awake at night, unable to sleep, because you talk to yourself and you are worried about it, don't tell me about it. I talk to myself too sometimes and I don't want to begin to wonder if there is something wrong with me.
I hope this helped you to realize the universal nature of this behavior. It could be you are lonely or it could mean you are stressed, but it is not harmful to anyone and is basically harmless. It is a behavior common in children, used as part of the reasoning process, and even as adults we revert back to earlier habits under certain circumstances. So this habit may come and go depending on your life circumstances.

Yes. It is normal to talk at the TV or the dog. We do that when there are no people around. For instance, I am alone and the next Y!A question I see could be unintelligible and I could see myself asking," What the he!! are you trying to say?" We do it for emphasis. We do it because it is the best we can do to approximate having someone close by to talk with. I think it keeps us vocal and keeps us sane.
C. :)!!

Who says what is normal and what is not? If you are alone it only stands to reason you talk to yourself, if you had a pet you would talk to them. Talk to yourself and also ask yourself questions, you'd be amazed at the answers you'd get back!
