I want an "elegant" theme. I love the Fleur-de-Lis design to enhance my French heritage

That kind of fabric is called toile. (say twall) It is indeed French. You can find tons of toile stuff ou tthere now. Mix it w/ a nice stripe in the same color scheme, and paint your walls one of the colors in the toile.
Don't overdo the FDL motif... a little goes a long way!

I'm French, moved to America a while ago.
Try buying some furniture from IKEA.
Get some contemporary and vintage pieces
to balance the room out.
Use lamps with frilly lamp shades to accentuate
the wall paper.
Make sure you use a neutral/red color scheme.

Maybe try painting 3 walls gold & one red...
Also go to a flower shop and take your colors and have them design you a beautiful flower arrangement for a table.

i thiink that you should redecorate your bedroom by using colors that you like and that seem to fit your surroundings. also get pictures to fill in the empty spots on the wall. if you have kids, let them help you decorate it too, this is not only a family activity but, its fun too!

you might want to look up and order some french home catalogs for some ideas. you could have an artist come to your house and do somehting similar on one of your walls and then on your other 3 walls have a different color.

i think that reddish color should be your wall color and use that fabric as a bedspread. its very cute!
