There are "WWW" patches on at least two NHL teams (Penguins and Chicago) what are they for?
Are they for their Web sites?
Some sort of charity?

The patches on the Chicago uniforms is for William W. Wirtz.

The patche on the Penquins uniform is an anniversary celebration of the city of Pittsburgh. It doesn't look like WWW to me.

The "WWW" patches on the Chicago uniforms are for William W. Wirtz, the recently deceased owner of the Blackhawks.
The patches the Penguins were wearing are "250" for the anniversary of Pitt burgh's founding.
