this depends on the wattage of the generator...the absolute rule of thumb is that if you exceed 80 % of the full load of the generator it will burn up.....a 2000 watt generator would run a refrigerator and about 6 100 watt bulbs....to figure the wattage needed you can multiply the amps times the volts to get the watts.....the more items you want to run the more watts your generator needs to be.....so if your load will be 1700 watts then you need 2000 watt generator....

Before you get a generator, pick up a Kill A Watt power tester and see how much your appliances are using, then figure which you would need to operate in a power outage and then prioritize what you want to run and what you need to run.
Some refigerators can easily eat 1000 watts if the are self defrosting and have a large freezer unit, so you really need to know how much power you will need.
I have a Honda EU2000 i and love it.
When the power is out I run the fridge (75 watts), three CFLs (42 watts), the computer system (221 watts), microwave (1200 watts) total 1538 watts max.
Less the microwave 338 watts which means a gallon of gas will easily go 15 hours.

It's very likely the generator will work ok in your application. You should take some measurements beforehand to make sure. If you have a friend with an AC ammeter you will find out the power requirements of your fridge.
Read through my home generator page for other ideas and suggestions.

I don't the output capaciy of your generator, but I guess the output capacity of 2000i model is about 2000 KVA. It's enough power to run 300W fridge and a lot of lights in your home ( total 1500W).

the basic formula for generator and inverters is that the measure the output in watts... you state a 2000.. im assuming thats 2000 watts...
watts is calculated by multiplying volts times the amps
most appliances have a tag telling u that amps
lets say your fridge uses 4 amps .. times 110 is 440 watts
the lights are shown on the bulbs... 6 . 100 watts bulbs burning.. thats 600 watts..
on your delicate stuff... big screen tv.. computers steroes..
id would use a serge protector

Not without opposable thumbs.

Okay, seriously, it's going to depend on how much power these things draw. Any self respecting generator should handle a refrigerator, but whether or not it can handle the lights depends on how many lights you're going to have on at one time.

One thing to watch for ---- If the refrigerator runs on 400 watts, it might take a 1500 watt surge to start it. If you have a bunch of other things plugged in and the refrigerator cycles off then on again, it might be too large a load for your generator.

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/avfKa

Hit the manufacturer's web sites and review the specifications. What you want to see are the sine wave output forms. If they are similar, you are good.
