Oh no, in two years I turn 40, and I haven't even accomplished anything. Am I headed for a major depression?

Don't think of age as something to hold you back. Turning 40 doesn't mean you're old - it's simply a new chapter in your life. And no, you won't be heading for a major depression. Get involved in things now so in two years you can say you've managed to do this and that within just two years!

First of all, all the talk of a mid-life crisis, has been proven to be false. A very small percentage of people actually experience a mid-life crisis. Second of all, 40 is a lot younger than it used to be! At 40, you've probably got at least another 40 years left to live. Most people who are 40 are quite happy with their lives. Think about it! You're older and wiser. You aren't making the bad decisions you made back in highschool. You're more responsible. Your car insurance rates are great. By forty, the kids are moving out of the house. For the first time in a long time, you can do whatever you want! You can live your life. There's a lot to look forward to in the years ahead. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my 30's worrying about my 40's!

Oh please......I was so freaked when I turned 30 and it turned out to be just another day!! I turned 40 almost 7 years ago (I'll be 47 in March) and let me tell you......life begins at 40. I have never felt so good about my life and about myself as I have since I turned 40. I care less about what people think about me and more about how I feel or what I want to do. I really love it.....it's like the older I get, the more comfortable I am in my own skin.

My husband turned 50 in 2006 and says it gets even better after 50!!!

You're just getting started sweetheart. Haven't you heard , life BEGINS after 40 not ends. You become more confident in who you are , you gain experience and wisdom, you don't take crap from anyone anymore and it gets better when you hit 50 and 60.

Our life with God has no limits, but when we talk about life here on earth, sure there is really a limit, and only God knows how long we will live in this world. When we ask ourselves if is there life after 40? I would say, there is always life whether its good or bad waiting for us. But let me deciper the meaning of life, when we say "Life" we are actually refering to a good and challenging life ahead of us. Actually we are the one making for our own life, if our attitude is always positive, we are always expecting a good and challenging life in the future. But if we always think negatively, we doubt our capacity to do something, difinitely our life ahead of us will not be good. My advice to you my friend is this, think positively that your life wjen you reach the age 40 is a good and challenging one, and it is worthwhile to live for. Good luck and God Bless, and wishing you the best of everything in life.

never look at life as the end , just the begining. Keep healthy, keep moving, keep active. I'm forty something , I do yoga, run and feel like I'm eighteen (well sometimes). Yes youhave to take a look at yourself and see what you can do to keep healthy, but don't obsess over it, just LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST

Oh of course not! Set new goals for yourself and be realistic in setting them. Is it possible that your previous ideals were set too high or included other people that may not be aware of your goals?
