I can think of quite a few, some of them are behind bars and I am grateful for this, because the world is scary enough, without a few of these folks in the free world./
I think Charles Manson is extremely artistically talented, but also very delusional to think that he will ever be released back into society.
Yes, I know the he was instrumental in the murders back in 1969, but just because you are nuts, does not mean that you are not talented.
Charlie has made some of the most unusual sculptures out of string, thread and hair, the scorpion is one of the most amazing sculptures in the warden's collection.
As far as extremely talented people with drug and alcohol problems, Edgar A. Poe, Vincent Van Gogh, Aubrey Beardsley just to name a few.
Despite all the strange things that Brittany Spears has done or will do in the future, she is still a very talented young woman.
Need more evidence? Marilyn Monroe was afraid that she was never gone enough, her death is still up for speculation.

Well, I suppose so. I mean, there was Ernest Hemingway, Vincent Van Gogh, F. Scott Fitzgerald. They were once living and Ithink others are born today. But If you ask me, living a good life and being kind to people is a talent too and everyone is talented in one way or another, they are just not recognized for the great people each one is or could be.

YES, they are so talented and their drug use or mental illness is much more than we can understand, I am fascinated with human behaviour and I study anyone I can that is out of the norm, my God this one proffessor we had as a neighbor was so smart and introvertated, interesting,he lost control of his meds and went and bought 6 pairs of pants and lit them on fire in his front yard and told the cops he was burning bodies, I was so sad cause now he is in a mental hospital, his awards still hang at the college, we loved any time he spent with us he was like a Edgar Allen Poe reincarnated if that is possible , if you meet one like him you will know, they have personalities that make you want to know them but they shy away, I am not one to easily be avoided so we became more than hi and bye, I miss him

A lot of writers are that way as well as artists and stuff. Hemmingway for example had suicidal tendencies and ultimately shot himself with a shotgun in the mouth. Hope this helps!
