Bullhead City, AZ . It's on the Colorado river, across the from Laughlin, NV. It's surrounded by mountains with good hiking. The lake is a couple of miles away. The winter weather is good. Pleasant days and cool nights. Rarely very cold. Laughlin has ten pretty nice hotel/casinos with movie theaters, bowling, good shows, cheap food, and of course gambling. Bullhead City rents and utilities are very cheap. Electric in the summer is high because it gets extremely hot and air conditioners run on high 24 hours a day. There is everything you need here.

The coast of Georgia or northern Florida on the east coast, like near St. Augustine. Georgia coast has some gorgeous wilderness islands, and St. Augustine has all sorts of attractions and a really nice state beach. And though it's not warm enough to swim, it's usually warm enough to enjoy being outdoors hiking. But the bugs are gone then.

That really depends on whether you like the cold or warm weather. If you like the winter, then there's no prettier place than the mountains of Colorado.
