I'm starting to think it's just a Toronto sociological thing. The Raptors are notorious for blowing leads in the last half, even in the post-Damon Stoudamire days and through the Vince Carter ones too. They were still blowing leads last season. Something in the water, maybe...
Go Raptors...I mean, Leafs...sure, why not?
LITY: Shut up, my hockey holiness. lol
Bob: I've always thought there some kinda correlation, but it feels like it's more fate than anything. The 'Hawks already had the team before the start of the season, they had everything locked and loaded, and then Wirtz just croaked.

As a fellow leafs fan I am trying to find out that too. It seems goaltending and d is good through two but as soon as the third hits they mess up. 3-1.. Yeah I think they should have won with that score. But allowing 5 goals? Yeah they got back but it wasn't enough. Something needs to be done about this.

Leafs suck
Hawks rule
I see no other plausible explanation

It does bother me actually. No changes have been made to date to account for the sudden upward movement. The additions of Lang, Zyuzin, Adams, Perreault, Samsonov, Toews, and Kane all happened while Bill Wirtz was alive and peter was in charge. The experience these players has helped immensely. Perreault wins 60% of his face-offs.............that's a lot more than the Hawks won last year. When you control the puck, the game becomes easier. Lang, Kane and Toews bring an energy that hasn't been seen in a while. Adams and Samsonov provide much needed experience and grit and Zyuzin provides some experience on the blue line. I think the upward trend would have been the same if Wirtz was alive....but there is a group who thinks otherwise.

I find it difficult to believe that Toronto is seven times more undisciplined than the Hawks. How do the Leafs only get one power plan and they get 7. They scored 4 PP goals....that's the game right there.

They dont know how to dump and chase.
Thats what they need to do.
Check out the 2002-2006 Detroit Red Wings.
They get a lead in the First, spend the rest of the game dumping and chasing. It makes for bad hockey but they win.
Brad.

JFJ added a top secret clause to most of the contract he's signed players to stating that because they are making the big bucks they really only need to play 40 minutes per game to get paid.
LOL.

I don't know, it seems to happen to bad teams. Like I said, Philly really went through that when they stunk. Luckily, they were smart enough to blow the team up and bring in alot of new faces.
Like I Am Telling You- Does it annoy you that people will now correlate the Hawks success with the death of Wirtz? It obviously has nothing to do with it, they were a team about to turn the corner and will continue to improve but I think people will point to his death being the reason for the turnaround. Absurd I think but I can see it getting talked about and being annoying.
