Not neccessarily. This was a straw poll of a conservative Christian group. The Conservative Christian groups do not like Giuliani for a few reasons. They don't like his liberal positions on social issues for one thing and the other reason is that they are afraid of him. If pro-choice Giuliani is the national Republican party's Presidential nominee then the Christian Conservatives who enjoyed such power in the GOP during the GWB years could lose significant power, perhaps even splitting the party into Giuliani social moderates, social conservatives, neoconservatives (allied with Giuliani), and Ron Paul's libertarians. Since the Reagan years, when Reagan united the party, Christian conservatives have enjoyed significant power within the GOP.

The Christian Right groups seem to have recently lined up behind Romney. They seem to have decided, despite his flip flopping and the Mormon issue that his establishment in early states gives him the best chance at knocking off frontrunner Giuliani. What's interesting is that Gov. Huckabee finished only 30 votes short of Romney , (out of 500+ cast). He has potential. A consistent social conservative and a Baptist minister who is gaining in Iowa.

I don't know how to explain Ron Paul's 3rd place finish in the Christian Right poll, since he is libertarian on many social issues, but is pro-life. Thompson got 4th. Thompson is finished. He was supposed to be the one that got enough of these voters to compete with Giuliani but he has failed to.

This shows the dominance of Romney with the Christian Right, the potential of Huckabee, and the distrust of Giuliani by Christian Right leaders.

Still, despite that, Giuliani still leads. He seems to be playing the electability card, saying that he's the most electable vs. Hillary Clinton, and it seems to be working. So his lead despite his liberal social issues definetley threatens their power.

This purely skill that Ron Paul supporters could desire to paintings greater durable, tell greater human beings and unfold the message much greater. that's no time for self congratulation or lower back slapping. He desires to WIN those straw polls. He desires to win via a extensive margin too. Get available and get recruiting greater keen and able supporters for the Ron Paul Revolution. If Ron Paul does incredibly nicely, yet nonetheless isn't elected President, united statesa. LOSES! Ron Paul doing nicely, isn't good sufficient. paintings greater durable. we could desire to win the straw polls. Win the primaries, win the nomination, win the election and then win the collegiate votes too. it is to no longer even point out overcoming the prejudice programmed into the digital election machines, the reminiscence playing cards and an entire variety of alternative grimy tricks alongside the way. don't be shocked if he gained all the former categories and nonetheless lost the collegiate votes. The NWO could plenty fairly Hillary, or Barack or Edwards, or very just about all people else grow to be POTUS than Paul. i would not be in any respect shocked in the event that they purchase off the collegiate votes. it relatively is going to take a miracle for Ron Paul to win. it relatively is completely unrealistic and unreasonable to anticipate him to have the potential to even compete. SO now we could make an unreasonable volume of attempt, and be completely unrealistic in our endeavour to create the miracle. WE could build OUR MIRACLE FROM SCRATCH and notice IT by, no count what! Ron Paul Supporters, construction a miracle, one vote at a time. Ron Paul 2008.

That poll doesn't mean much as far as I can tell. It is a smaller group of voters that participate in the poll and it is also an interest group. So, Giuliani doesn't do well with that group, that doesn't mean much when you put the candidates into the bigger picture.

No.

Giuliani has the chops to be president, Romney has the looks, and Fred has the voice. Think Thompson/Romney or maybe the other way around.

Incidentally find a copy of 'The Last Best Hope' and you can see what Fred Thompson would be like as president.

Because it was basically a Christian Conservative poll.. The Christian community has already withdrawn support for Rudy. He didn't stand a chance in that poll, not that he stands a serious chance anyways..

HUMMMM - Paul gets 15% of the vote in a meaningless straw poll or 1% in a highly regarded LEGITIMATE national poll - what to believe? Rudy looses to Paul?

Sorry dude, BIG DEAL! It means absolutely NOTHING! Please stop ranting about how wonderful Paul is.

What about stick polls? Or better yet, brick polls? I wouldn't put much faith in straw polls.
