One of two things:

1. You talk to them and work something out. Many times they'll take your name and address and let you go get some money and come back. If you don't come back, they report you to the cops.

2. You can leave, and they can call the cops on you for theft. Not a good idea when you consider that a restaurant usually has a lot of witnesses.

That has Happen to me Before Good Thing I wasn't Alone, I left my Guest while I drove Home to get My Money It was Very Embarrassing So Don't Ever Forget your Wallet.... Trust Me.
