Unions were created in an effort to prevent the workers from being totally raped by the capitalists. The majority of the world's population is nonunion and the majority of the world's people toil for subsistance wages earning less than $2 per day. This, of course, doesn't reflect the value of their work, rather it reflects the political domination of the super-rich. A socialist society seeks to overthrow that super-rich and create a society run by the working class where the interests of society are paramount instead of the pursuit of profits.

What jobs do you have in mind that are not subjective to judge?

I'm an application software developer. The results of my work are about as objective as it gets. And I am a liberal.

My CEO though is conservative and receives about 500 times my compensation for making occasional pep talks. His qualifications consist primarily of having known the people who chose the latest CEO.

The same thing is true in nearly every corporation of any size in America. We have a ruling class that bleeds our businesses dry while contributing little or nothing to the products and services offered.

It is not exactly try. I am protected by the Union, but I am so on the right that I am afraid nothing left to my right.
