It takes 45 minutes to render a 5 min video in Sony Vegas 7 - What do I need to upgrade?

hey I made a video which goes for 5 minutes and has 2 songs included. No special effects just basic cutting and editing and titles. when i render it takes FOREVER, it took 45+ minutes to render that as .wmv (modified for good quality) and ended up 41.2mb. is this normal or slow?

Heres my specs
pentium 4 processor
1.5gb DDR ram
128mb ATI radion grapics card
heaps of hdd space over 150+ gb
windows xp sp2 btw

What needs upgrading to speed up the saving time and how would it help? Thanks heaps

Depend on spped of your CPU, this could be normal, to speed things up, upgrade or change your CPU.
