I just got a new Dell Inspiron 1521 about a month ago and now its messed up and i dont know what happened. I turned it on a couple days ago and a window popped up (before it started up) and it said there was an error and something was wrong and that i had to check some disk. Now that message doesnt pop up anymore but it did for the first 5 times i tried starting it up. And after that would pop up i would push ok and then the screen would be black but the little mouse icon was there and it would move but there was nothing there. Now when i start it up, all there is is the blank, black screen and the mouse arrow. None on the keyboard does anything and the only thing i can do it turn it off and on from the power button. Please help, i want to find out what caused this, whats wrong with it and how to fix it. Please!! Any info helps!! Thank you!!!

If you just got it a month ago, contact DELL it's still under warranty they will fix it free of charge, Call the 1-800 number.

i'd first try reinstalling the OS
if the problem persists, send it back to Dell for repairs -- it's still under warranty
