I had to name a county hospital for a university level project. I called it the Randel P McMurphey County Hospital. Not one of my fellow classmates even chuckled. Am I too old? Does anyone get it?

maybe if had been the county psychiatric hospital people would have understood. but then, I do not think anybody reads that book anymore, so maybe we are showing our age here.
and it is McMurphy, no "e"
and I have this problem a lot of times with the high school kids, they look at me like i am from another planet, and i just tell them to go ask their grandparents to explain
