It's so frustrating! Everytime I play an fps game (first person shooter) my mouse freezes and gets stuck on the screen for a few seconds. I have to vigorously move the mouse around to get it moving again. I know it's not performance issues, my computer is only 1 year old. Is it the surface of my mouse pad? I have a Logitech MX Revolution laser mouse. I bought it because my old mouse was doing the same thing.

How do I stop my mouse from constantly freezing and getting stuck on my screen? It's getting me killed!

I have 2GB of ram with about 70% of it free.
You can't save on these types of games. I play online.

It has to be something to do with the mouse or the mouse pad.

If your mouse pad is very dark or shiny, that may be the problem.

To test, replace the mouse pad with an ordinary piece of white paper. If the problem goes away, buy a lighter coloured, non-shiny mouse pad.

it be more to do with the processor power and ram being consumed by the game.

you may need more ram or more virtual memory (rare)) or see if you cam save the game more often to clear the memory

One thing you can try is to open the task manager on process tab.

Move the mouse a lot and see what program takes up the cpu power.(You need to be in the game)
right click on that and select priority and set it to high.

you can always set it back again

The idea here is to get the game as the priority process and anything else working in the background can wait a bit.

no be counted if that's an analog mouse attempt laying aside the ball and cleansing in it with a DRY textile. in case you nonetheless have difficulty then gently use sandpaper on the trackball to offer it a greater useful grip floor for the rollers to seize. If that would not paintings this is hardware confliction with different drivers.
