Why are cons so quick to accuse people who disagree with American foreign policy of hating America?

Cons seem to believe that government can't do anything right.

But apparently our government's foreign policy is always right?

I don't think so.

Kicking fascist behind during WWII and the Marshal Plan = Good.

Helping to overthrow elected leaders in Iran and latin america and replacing them with right-wing dictators = Bad.

While I of course believe in free speech I also believe in holding people accountable for their free speech and I really am sick and tired of "GOD BLESS AMERICA" spewing his garbage without accountability and without all knowing just how he represents much that is wrong with America.

Let us be very clear that if any country tried to perpetrate any of these atrocities against the US ,the US would simple carpet bomb them so why are the ignorant morally bankrupt and monumentally hypocritical Americans so stunned/amazed/ that there are literally many countries and hundreds of millions of humans around the world that are simply wanting to avenge the atrocities that the US has "done unto them".

Finally! people are opening their eyes to see the truth and the facts displayed here speak for themselves. After that great answer from gypsy_cat 345, i haven't got much to say except that people like Vanessa should look at the bigger picture and make her own assessments, rather than believing in what the media WANT people to believe. also, i don't think people should balme the Islamic RELIGION for the actions of ignorant so-called Muslims who claim they are acting on its behalf. secondly, i don't think Israel is JUST a small country that wants to be left alone. If this was the case it would not have waged a full-blown war on lebanon, killing thousands of people in order to regain 2 of their soldiers who were captured by Hezbollah. Shouldn't they think about releasing the 1000s of lebanese prisoners currently in Israel! Thirdly, Muslims do not have anything against Jews. The issue is with the Zionists and Israelis. BTW, I am NOT Lebanese. I'm simply stating what i beleive is the truth

I am a conservative, I also think the government can't do much right. I don't really have a problem with those who disagree with our foreign policy. The ones who get on my nerves are those who, one, really have no idea what they are talking about, they just repeat things they see on TV, and two, offer no constructive alternative, they just want to join the Bush bashers. Those people, I truly think, do hate this country.

Lotsa "Cons" disagree with foreign policy.

That's not the issue.

The problem is that what you call "disagreement" is not simply "disagreement".

The troops are attacked and accused of murder, rape, theft, mayhem (look it up), torture, and general asininity.

The same is said of the President, of Conservative Congress (liberals get a walk), and of the President's wife and family.

He is accused of every crime known to man (or WO-man), of abuse of drugs, of infidelity, document falsification and general chicanery (look it up).

All of this without any proof. (NO, a CNN/NY Times story "breaking news" isn't proof)
