I'm not that great with memorizing, but I'm a good actress and I was just given the lead role for The Ash Girl, a play. Any advice please?

Try memorizing chunks or scenes at a time, then move on when you're done. And if you can, get someone to read the other lines in the script and have you say your lines without a script, if you have extra time in between rehearsals. That really helped me.

i take my script EVERYWHERE with me. read it everywhere at every chance you get. by the time my show opens, my family knows my lines just as well as i do!! Always read aloud and imagine yourself in the character's shoes. Every night, go through the entire script (even if there are some scenes you are in...it still helps). ask friends to read through it with you. oh and it's easy to break the lines in groups. so, like in a scene, let's say you have a conversation with A about fish and cookies, then wiht B about clocks. Memorize the lines wiht you and A and fish. then u and A and cookies. then u and B and clocks. Hope this helps!!!!!

Wow congrats! If u have an apple product there is an app called line please and it definently helps, u have to enter in the script annoyingly but that helps u memorize it too, and if not, writeing it down, reading it over an over until u are very familiar with it, and having someone read lines with u is about all u can do. Good luck!
